I took the trans am lettering and the door moldings off of my WS6. On the passenger door, the previous owner used some adhesive to make the TRANS AM lettering stick. I got the lettering off but I am left with this awful looking thick white crap.. I have tried everthing paint safe that I can think of but all with no luck. I am afraid that this crap has ruined the paint and my only hope is to take it to a body shop to get it ground off. Do any of you know of something else I can try before I give in and go spend the big bucks for new paint.

Will that break up hard glue? I mean this stuff is hard, I have even used sand paper to shave some of it down!

i think so, mostly because, even if he does get the glue off with something else, there's still going to be discoloration because the paint that the lettering was over has never been exposed to sun.

just had to do this for a friend's car. his was black and the discoloration was really noticeable. unfortunately, he decided to wetsand it one day, but my polishes were still on order, so he rode around for a week with a semi-flat, but very smooth spot on his trunk

I had not thought about going that route. My car is NBM so it sticks out pretty good.
