Its called a fund raiser guys. If you want him to win you've got to support him. If you've got the big bucks, you actually get to talk to him.

Besides, fund raisers like that aren't meant for the average person (though we most certainly can attend) it is meant for people that can piss away that kind of money and say they know the President of the US (if he gets elected) It also gets your foot in the door if you ever need something.

I should have mentioned this before.

Here's a really good example I personally experienced.

When I was in the Army, stationed at Ft. Belvoir, I decided to get married. My wife was then living in Japan and needed a fiancee visa. However the immigration department told her that she could enter the states on a tourist visa and get her fiancee visa while she is over here. WRONG!

My fiancee got to the Seattle airport and told them she was coming here to get married (she didn't know any better) They promptly put her on a plane back to Tokyo. When I called immigration and got the right information from them, I found out it would take OVER A YEAR to get my fiancee's new visa.

Well, a while before this happened, my Grandpa had been to several fund raisers for our congressman. I think he paid maybe 200 bucks to attend a dinner or something. It didn't hurt that our congressman also attended our church.

Two phone calls and 30 days later, my future bride had her fiancee visa. That congressman aide personally called the immigration processing center and made it happen.

Now maybe that congressman would have taken care of business without my Grandpa's donations but when I called and told the Congressman that I was my Grandpa's boy, he piped up, "Oh I know AL. He's always been a good supporter of mine. I'll get one of my aides to take care of this for you. Don't sweat it"
