I didn't get one this year, but I think I'm going to just pay for a weekend in december and try to harvest a nice buck. Where are ya'll hunting at? I hunt for dove and duck at some places in McKinney and Anna (there's hog in Anna too). Just wondering where everyone else is at. Anyone have any luck scouting up to this point?

I have a 7800 acre lease in Terrell County, about 15 mles north of the Rio Grande for Mule deer, and I'm one of four on a family style year round lease of 1200 acres 15 minutes out of Coleman. In the last 7 years in Terrell county, I've bagged several awesome bucks, a perfect 8 that scored 142 is probably the prettiest whitetail I've ever seen on the hoof, an 11 point that scored 167 with 13 1/2 and 12 3/4" G2s, My favorite though is a 5x5 muley that I shot with a bow at about 18 yards..... they are all on my wall of shame....
This is my first year on the Coleman lease, but I know the guy who has run it for the last 15 years or so for most of my life, and it's produced well, and that's a 5 deer county
Next year I'm leaving the west texas lease and taking a 5 day hunt in Mexico with some family in Laredo..... Lots of Monsters still lurking south of the border....

Turkey Texas or Aspermont. I can hunt either one.. Been too busy to do any good dove hunting so far.

East Texas deer are small, but the West Texas deer are much bigger.

we had a lease out in winnsboro for about 7 years. after we completely reworked the cabins interior and made it so it didnt look like a motel 6 in BFE the land owners said they wanted to use it as a "family resort". so since then we had a lease northwest of abeline and slept in tents, but we dont have anything this year, does anyone know of some good weekend property? id love to take a good deer this year, but i dont want to do it somewhere in south texas where they're all trapped by game fences.
