Coach: Big 12 admits missing call in Texas-Arkansas St.
JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State coach Steve Roberts says he was told by the Big 12 Conference's supervisor of football officials that game officials wrongly overturned ASU's recovery of an onside kick in the final minute of the No. 7 Longhorns 21-13 victory on Saturday.
"We got a confirmation [Tuesday] that they missed the call," Roberts said.
The Indians were flagged with 56 seconds left in the game for an improper formation. Texas recovered a subsequent onside kick attempt and ran out the clock.
Roberts said the game film showed the Indians had enough players on both sides of the ball before the kick.
"There's nothing you can do about it now," Roberts said. "I don't have a reaction because a reaction's worthless."
The Big 12 Conference said officials coordinator Walt Anderson was not immediately available for comment Wednesday.

still would have needed a 2pt conversion just to tie.
they made the wrong call but i doubt it would have changed the ultimate outcome of the game.

Doubt leaves room for possibility! Last year A&M didn't take the lead until late in the 4th quarter with like 2:14 left a bad call could have changed that or imagine had a bad call placed the ball back with Nebraska in the last minute of the game then UT would not have went up by 2 points with a 22 yard fieldgoal with 23 seconds left on the clock. I think it is reasonable to see that possibly a correct call could have caused a different ending just as it may have had no affect.

or if that TD would have counted in the first half last year ... J/K You're right, it always leaves a chance, but I doubt it would've matter. Oh, and since everyone's dredging up old stuff, if the refs would've flagged Reggie Bush for aiding Matt Leinhart against ND, then ...

Well, at least you can admit Texas partially lost on a shitty call. Good to see you aren't totally clueless and blind.
Texas didn't win against Nebraska on a bad call either. Texas' 'D' made a fucking HUGE strip and drove down the field to put it away with a clutch kick by Ryan Bailey.
I watched the YouTube someone made about this and even with replay it would have been extremely hard to overturn it with indisputable evidence. Even so, they would have had to drive all the way down, score a TD, and convert a 2-point conversion. Thats alot to happen in less than a minute just to TIE a game, not win.
I find it funny that an OU fan posted this, but didn't take note of how Steve Roberts and Arkansas State went about it....they said nothing. They knew they lost and couldn't do anything about it. You won't see Steve Roberts on TV bitching and moaning like Bob Stoops did. Its called class and Roberts has alot and Stoops has very little.
