50" 1080i

You'll see more difference with the extra size than you will with the 1080p

Why not a 50" with 1080p ????

either one of these will do!

In a 42'' you will probably won't see a difference, at the shop we have a 1080p plasma mounted right next to a 720 and you can hardly see the difference. If you were going to get a 55" or bigger get 1080 and you'll see the difference on a 1080p signal. If you want to stop by the shop you can see for your self.

I hear ya. I bought a 720p and still sometimes wish I waited for the 1080p.

Athe time I bought mine, 1080p was about $4,000 vs the $2,000 I spent on mine.

You can now get the same TV I bought for $1,200 and now get a 1080p for $2,000. And it's only been about 1 1/2 years.

oh, well

I wouldn't bother with a 1080p just yet. There's not enough out there that supports 1080p to spend all of that money on a nice TV. You'll be set with a 720p/1080i for the next couple of years.

Hell...I bought my 720p TV two years ago and it's still good enough for what's out there IMO.

Is that a good tv?

The one I want, is the 57" Samsung LCD but that fucker is $7000. I've found it for as low as $6000, but that's still too much for me to pay. :(

yea, but I gotz 3 years no interest... ;)

I found it there too, but 3 years with no interest is a hell of a lot cheaper than the 200 difference... plus, I got 100 off my XBox when I bought the TV at the same time for a Labor Day sale, so it was really 1799. :D I made out pretty good.

I have it amd it has a great picture... its no plasma, but it smokes anything that says DLP on it, including the LED Samsung that I wanted till I saw this. It is only a couple months old. Go to Best Buy and look at it. ;)

It's not a bad TV, if you're considering it though, go with the mitsu 734 series, more features and bang for the buck..

If you have an HD or Blu-ray DVD player, go 1080p

I have a 62" 1080i Samsung DLP and an LG Blu-Ray/HD DVD player, I can see a difference between 720p and 1080i. 720p is sharper/crisper looking. I can imagine 1080p would be kick-fucken-ass!

May be selling this TV and getting a 1080p now!

Have you read the reviews on Amazon on Toshiba. "The Bulb broke on the first day I had it hooked up. (After two weeks) Toshiba sent me a bulb for free and I haven't had any problems yet..." Just about every review says that. I wouldnt want to dick with that. When does the patent run out on bulbs so the price will drop?

well Ihave had mine a whole week and the bulb still works...

I got the extended warranty anyways, so I get one bulb within a year from Toshiba, and one again after that up to four years...

In four years Ill have a different TV anyway. :o

And no i didn't read the reviews, I just noticed it had the brightet and sharpest picture sitting next to the LED Samsung and the Mistu... Both of which were a little more money but the picture sucked compared to the Toshiba... so I dunno?

Fell for what? The picture being set up bright? No, but my pops used to service and tune TVs, and he said it had the best picture... Why would they want to sell cheaper TVs?

I've been looking for about two years, and all the Mitsus I was in love with did not have the same picture as this one, set up or not...

So if you mean I fell for having the brightest picture and best contrast and sharpness... yep I sure did!

That being said, I have the lamp on low bright because it burns my eyes on full tilt. :(

haha a little, movies aren't bad (its like sitting in the front row of a movie theater), but I got motion sick playing DIRT the other day... thought I was seriously going to throw up, so I'm out on racing games till I can sit further back. :(

That one is the 720p/ 1080i version. (P50) I bought this one about 6months ago for just under $1500 from Sam's and have been very happy with it. I wanted a flatscreen for wall mount which steered me away from the DLP Projection models. The colors are great on this one. It wasn't worth the price difference to me to get 1080p.
