12 team league I had pick 10. The first 8 picks where all running backs and number 9 was Peyton Manning so I took Carson Palmer.

Was it a snake draft? Your mistake was picking a QB in the first round once Peyton was gone. RB/WR's are usually the first to go.

I'm gonna guess you picked C. Johnson for your 2nd pick. You just killed yourself with that pick when their bye comes around.

people put too much emphasis on a big duo on a bye week. its really not all that bad... nobody is going to go 16-0. id rather take a loss on one week for the benefit of having and carson/johnson or peyton/harrison for the whole year.

plus if you get really technical with draft programs you can instantly see what your opponents team is going to look like that week as well. in many cases i have come across the byes were negligible.

thats a perfect example of a theory that getting most of your byes out of the way in one week can help you.

instead of having to reformulate your team weeky from say weeks 5-9 youve got most of it out of the way in one week.

sure you had a loss but depending on the league and the overall strength of your team it works.

Just saying it could work against you. He might need a win to get into the playoffs and both his studs are on a bye.

Either way, I wouldn't have gone QB in round 1 other than Peyton regardless of the scoring system.
