+1 on holsters with two clips. It makes the holster more stable and it stays put. Holster with a single clip make the overall package really thick and harder to conceal.
Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 is expensive. You can get a K&D for less.

Don't overlook Kydex. Many people don't like it because it *looks* like cheap plastic. It is more durable than leather. It doesn't absorb sweat like leather. It fits the gun better than leather. It is thinner than leather. And so on. Check out the CompTac Minotaur or the Crossbreed SuperTuck.

That rule doesn't apply to everything. I found that the design of the holster means more than its price and the ones with good design and function don't always carry a steep price.

Thanks guys!
Renan, those last two look perfect, just what I was looking forhttp://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
It didnt say on either site, but do you think either of those could also be used at the small of your back, or are the only for the hip?
I like the side/hip models, but itll be a little tight with some of my pants/shorts...:o
May have to get some baggier clothes to conceal better.

They were designed for strong side carry but I suppose you could wear it at your back. You might not be able to set the proper cant angle. Small of back (SOB) holsters usually place the gun almost horizontal with the grip pointing up. They are good for when you are standing up. I can't imagine driving with one of those.
IWB holsters do need an extra inch or two on your pants size.

I like Fobus kydex paddle holsters for OWB and I have a Desantis Nemesis for my pocket gun.

Ok, I guess its one or the other.
I think strong side would be more comfortable/accessable, but SOB will be easier to conceal.
As for driving, ill probably make a mount for inside the truck, either between my seats or under the driverseat to have it easily accessable while driving too.(Thats if I got the SOB holster, and its uncomfortable while sitting/driving)

Dang :o
Guess ill be losing more weight, Im not buying new pants to carry!:p
Thanks again for the info.

SOB will stick out if you're sitting on a bench and leaning forward. When you get in your truck and unholster, I would think that holster will still be uncomfortable. Plus, if you ever slip and land on your backside.... ouch!
I started out with a cheap $11 Uncle Mike's IWB holster. It was like training wheels. Once I sort of got the hang of it, then I went for the more elaborate one. I didn't want to spend money on a good holster then decide that's not the method of carry I want to use. I'd hate to see you spend money on a SOB then realized you want to go IWB instead. I currently use a K&D Dakota. I'll probably go with the CompTac Minotaur one of these days.
There are a couple of used SuperTucks on the Trading Post of XDTalk.

I have the C-T.A.C. with the C Clips and love it. It concels well and doesnt move. It took a little getting used to against my side but after that it was perfect.

Does the Kydex against your skin bother you? That was the selling point of the Minotaur.

Im not big on all leather, but to me, if I can get leather on the side against my skin, for the same price(or less), id go that way.
For the reasons you said, I think ill try out the Minotaur, instead of messing with a SOB holster. I never thought too much about the sitting part, or even bending over to pick something up, and then its not concealed too well anymore :o

I have a SOB holster by KBJ for my Glock 27 that I can wear driving, sitting, running dozer, tractor etc with no problem. But it doesn't work with a tuck in shirt of course. I also have a Pager Pal, it takes some getting used to but works good once the leather is broken in and can be worn with any shirt or even without a shirt. I need to get the cell phone holder for it since I don't have a pager though. Google "pager pal" for their website.
I have the Uncle Mike's Inside-the-pant holster that I'll sometimes use on the SOB, it covers the trigger housing, I just wish it was a little more sturdy.

I also have the Comp-Tac Outside-Waistband paddle holster. It has pretty decent weapon retention in it, but I just wish it was a little bit closer to the body. It just seems like it bulges out too much.
http://www.comp-tac.com/catalog/images/Paddle%20Outside.jpg
So all in all, I just wish there was a Kydex product that held the weapon closer to the body, or at least was more concealable. I just hate IWB holsters because it's a bitch to have to wear bigger sized pants, the feeling, etc.

not really, most of it is against undergarments... you can try on my CTAC Thursday night if you want... the biggest problem I have are the "hand-checkered double diamond rosewood grips"... they are a little rough on bare skin...
the best thing about the kydex over the leather is its easy to clean... I can wipe it down or run it though the dishwasher... theres no smell and its thinner without the leather...

That part of my side became less sensitive as time went on.
I might check out the Minotaur from Comptac. It looks like the CTAC but with a leather back.

I absolutely hate the Uncle Mike's crap... serve virtually no purpose.
I have the #19 IWB from Fist Inc. (http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/Default.htm)
