Anyone interested in a GTG for the Longview area? [Archive]

I went out cruising like we used to and noticed that the old places are no longer in use. I overheard that folks are street racing at various locations using scanners to know where the cops are, but I am not looking for street races. Is anyone in the area interested? I've got a place, but could not condone to underage drinking, illegal activities, and whatnot within reason.

Yeah, the cops won't allow it anymore, if we have permission they find a way to take it away. Most of us just go hang out at our friends shops now. I'm bringing my car out on Saturday if my parts show up in time.
Yeah but if the person whom owns or runs the property is there at the time they have absolutely no wat to run us off. Now then IF someone were to give us written permission to hang out some where and bullshit about hot rods with the conditions that there were to be no fighting or drinking involved. HELL YEAH WE ARE INTERESTED. Or we can just hang out at my shop on harrison rd.

I have never been to any racetrack since Hallsville. I recently got my hopes up when someone said that people were working on opening it back up, but when I drove out there I was sorely disappointed. That place looked like shit. The old El Camino was still out there with the hood up, of course.

We had a good time out at EastTexas Sonar. Everyone is welcome, but seeing as it is my place, I get to dictate who stays. :D Plus it's outside the city limits, and little to no traffic. I have to be there in order for everyone to hang out, though.

Not really....The Loop is wider, and stores have spread out. Otherwise, there is still the same progression of individuals that existed on the Loop from when I used to cruise it 10 years ago.

Yeah, the really old ones don't come out much anymore. If we had a place where real cars could come hang out without the young ass ricers then maybe we could have something cool.

O'reillys is cool and all, but all the traffic on Gilmer Rd. makes for no fun. Also, there are tons of punk asses that think they want to fight everyone who looks at them wrong. Last Saturday really sucked. I didn't stick around for 2 minutes before I left.

If we could get enough people then we could go out to East Texas Sonar and actually have a good time. Plus, there is hardly any traffic on 259.

Another reason noone gets out right now is all the construction on the loop. I did notice folks were starting to cruise up and down Hwy 80 again.

We still go out on the weekends hell just about every day. We hang out at the shop and don't have to deal with any law. We go in town to see if anyone is out. We still hang out to 2 and 3 in the morning.

Hi guysi'm new to the whole forums thing, but a few friends and myself started up a new meet where yall already have one, at the Lake Worth bridge in northside Fort Worth. I know that yall have a meet there every saturday at 6pm, but if you would like to show upand support another small mustang group you are all more than welcome to come, there is no drinking, drugs, or fighting we're all just out to have fun, look at cars, and if there happens to be a few races who are we to judge. There are access roads and easy access to to the haighway for any kind of runs that you want. Last week there was a surprising amount of mustangs show because we invite everyone from imports(ricers) to american muscle. Im looking for the right mustang to take downa turbo z28 on the highway so if you know anyone let me know. Hope to see yall out there.

If my back would get better I would be changing the suspension up a little and putting a different rear end under my car tonight.

just to let y'all know, there's an event going on in Rusk 02/10 called dash for cash being held by one of the local boards around here. they're having 3 classes: bikes, 13.00 and slower, and 12.99 and faster. all classes will have a payout. it's $20 for bikes, and 12.99 class, $10 for 13.00 and slower class. you'd also have to pay the $20 to get into the track and race. to register go onto texas-racing.com and introduce yourself in the newbie thread and then go to the Dash for Cash thread and follow the entry directions. Track opens at 12-noon so you'll want to be there by then if you go!
