How do you like em?
Looking for a subcompact 9mm for easier concealment, and I like the feel/fit of the XDs/Glocks.
I love my XD 40 service, but a little hard to conceal in the summer months.
Im also considering the XD 9 3" as well
So post up some sub compact 9mms...

I've been sporting a Kahr PM9 for when I feel like carrying something around in my pocket.
Someting like 17-18oz loaded weight and little over 5" in length.

Not bad, what did it set you back? And have you had a few rounds thru it yet to see how you like it?

Got it from a cop who was no longer allowed to possess firearms due to now having a felony record.
As for shooting it, I've maybe put 30rnds through it. Shoots nice.

the kahr seem to be a nice pistol ... as far as the xd subcompacts, I didnt care for them at all. But i have heard good things from other people. the glock 26 was something i concidered but am going to pass on in favor of another 4 inch 1911.
hope that tells you something

wade, that KAHR was what I was looking at while you were buying your 40. It is a nice looking gun, and was very thin for what I was expecting. I will prolly get one one day.

Why not a Glock 27?
My choice would (will) be a Glock 29.

Sept 22-23!
Dallas Market hall!
What prices did you see at the show?
Tony, no reason really, already have a .40, 9mm to change it up/cheap ammo.
A G27 would be a possibilty too, but gotta find a deal on one...(just like the G26)
Im still considering the Sub compact XD, but id like to shoot one first...

If I remember, it was similar in price or a bit less than what you gave for yours.

I carry the XD40 subcompact and it's great. I can't imagine carrying the Service (4 inch) model. I know we're about the same height so that XD40 Service must be digging into your hip or ass when you sit.
Since you have the XD40 Service, consider this.... You target practice with your XD40. You are already accustomed to the controls of the XD. You get another gun for carry and under a panic situation, you could fumble the controls of the carry pistol if they are different from the XD. I shot over 10,000 rounds through my XD9 Service just from lane shooting and now IDPA. We had a low light match not too long ago and there were two stages where I could not see my sights. I had to shoot by feel. It was point and click. I still hit the target pretty good. I can't imagine carrying a gun that has a totally different operation or grip angle. Of course you could always practice and train with whatever carry pistol you choose, but I'm just bringing up this point for you to consider.
Edit: My girl friend carries an XD9 subcompact. If you want to shoot both, we could meet up at a range some weekend. Just bring ammo. :)

Thanks for the info Renan!
Yep, the XD40 is just too big for me to easily conceal(in every sense of the word), itll hide/tuck ok under a Tshirt, but could still be seen in some situations, I really need to get a good holster too.
And having a different gun from carrying/shooting often with is a good point, and another reason I was leaning towards another XD or a Glock. To me, that type of gun feels great, which is a huge part of accuracy.
I do know for sure ill be practicing with the carry weapon more for sure, so theres no doubts when/if its needed.
Edit: I may just take you up on that! Thanks again! :)

What's not to like about that? :D

I have the Kahr P9 and I like it. 9 is easier to control than the G27 that I had plus the P9 is single stack so it fits small hands better. The PM9 magazine kept pinching my finger when I was firing it so I got the P9.
