1 Round of qualifying, 8 car qualified field. If 8 cars or less show up to qualify - we'll draw numbers and start eliminations immediately. The only 'rule' is - if you can't make the call to the lanes, your competitor will get a competition bye run and you will forfeit.

I think of DFWStangs as a web site with weekend warriors who race. We get on here to help pass our days at work & talk Car Shop & Everything under the sun. I have really never understood the Bracket Racing at the Cruise's before.

If you wanted to WIN MONEY or Bracket Race go to True 10.5 or to any track here in DFW to do those type things.

I think of the Spring & Fall & Summer Cruises as DFWStangs GTG at the track to hang out & meet everyone we talk to over the website & put faces with screen names & learn real names of everyone behind their screen names & make new friends.

NOT WIN MONEY.

I think there should be NO MONEY PAID OUT. This will weed out guys who are just at the cruise for MONEY & we should just have VENDOR PAYOUTS FOR GIFT CERTIFCATES TO THOSE VENDORS. Maybe $20 bucks for pay out or $100.

But you get all the Heavy Hitter running for the money & thus taking out your JOE SCMOE who is really at the cruise for the reason's I listed above.

This is just my opionion.

It looks like there will be a "street" class, those cars will most likely cruise from different parts of the metroplex - but be sure to check the GTG forums close to cruise time, there are always meetings posted before the cruise.

Alrighty, I won't be a member for 4 months until after the cruise but I'm going to try and come to do some TNT. It'll be the first trip to the track for the Stang... ever. It's bone stock motor wise but I just want to see what it does. Plus maybe I can officially meet some of you guys.

I'm hoping my dad or bro can come and bring my VW. I always tell people who ask that the VW is about a second faster than a stock 5.0 Mustang. Now that I've got one I can find out for sure.

Be there when the gates open to get in the maxiumum amount of test-n-tune runs. After about an hour they'll start running the classes.

We had a repeating problem, the lokar throttle cable end for the carb pulled out 3 times, we had it tight but the setscrew wouldn't put enough pressure on the cable to keep it from pulling out, working on the car and fixed it . We missed the call to the line, I heard the tower calling something like #384, our number is A464, never heard the list of qualifiers or the quailifying cutoff number or the name being called, we had 5 people in our group, no one heard a thing. oh well, that's racing. Reed took our place when we didn't show on call. A 6.20 wouldn't have won anyway. That blown camero was bad assed.

All in all it was a great day, super job Brooks, as usual.

I had a good time yesterday. Hadn't been out to a race track since... well the last Fall Cruise. I even brought some friends out with me. I was sorta disappointed in the turnout though, what was up with that? It was nice to see some of the old schoolers and also see some nice rides. Shawn's Trailblazer was surprising. Damn that thing is a sleeper!

Well the game wasn't until 3.... Little windy but I doubt weather was a factor. Either case, thanks for setting things up. Hopefully next time I'll have a running car to race with :D

I had a good time yesterday. Hadn't been out to a race track since... well the last Fall Cruise. I even brought some friends out with me. I was sorta disappointed in the turnout though, what was up with that? It was nice to see some of the old schoolers and also see some nice rides. Shawn's Trailblazer was surprising. Damn that thing is a sleeper!


From what i was hearing, a lot of people on the site dont visit the racing forum, and heard about it last minute. So for future cruises, having a forum-wide announcement that there is a cruise im sure would increase turnout.

I also was a bit curious as to why there was such a low turnout as compared to previous cruises.

It was fun even though I didnt do as well as I had hoped. If I had understood how the bracket racing worked before it started I would have tried that.

this was my first dfwstangs event.it was pretty cool but the early post i read explaining the event led me to believe that most of the cars there were going to be way faster than mine so i drove my slow turbo t-bird there.needless to say i spent most of the morning wanting to run the t-bird just to run something but i dont trust the clutch on a sticky track.after i stopped kicking myself for not bringing my mustang i had a pretty good time.we ended up staying all night and were supprised at the turn out for the street wars stuff.i think that there needs to be more classes to run in next time though.make it like a fun ford weekend type of deal might get more people interested.i ment to go up and say hi to you brooks havent seen you in a while,but you prob wouldnt rember me.you did an awesome job and we all had fun.thanks!
