You take the classroom part at his house in Arlington and then drive about 15 minutes down the road to the range on Lancaster. It says $99 covers everything, but you'll need another $15 or so at the range.

That's where I did mine. The class is also fairly shy of the 10hr norm.

What part of town are you in? The class I took in Grand Prairie provided guns, ammo, pretty much took care of everything for $125. I mailed mine as soon as I got out of class.

i am in saginaw but will drive a little ways for a good deal... :) the arlington gig does not sound bad for 99 dollars... dont you have to go online and fill out paper work and pay like 140 to the state to take the class or something like that?

Well I'm just saying if you still have to rent a gun and ammo. An extra $25 isn't that much more. Plus it's all in one location. The instructors were pretty interesting, much better than the first time around where I was falling asleep. Didn't hurt I had a cute chick sitting next to me. One of the officers was even running scenarios with class members using a dummy gun and was showing off different pistols (it's in a gun store) and even his M4. The other instructor was one of the guys who helped write the law and got it passed, Ray Allen. He had some real interesting stories.
I ordered the paper work online through the DPS website and paid the fee as well so my paper work was ready to go after I finished the class.

A couple of those guys are funny yet they get the point across. I liked walking to the "backyard" to go shoot . Congrats ! I hope you never have to use it. It's one of those things thats good to have around if ya need it. A gun in the hand is better then a cop on the phone.

I'm a bit behind the curve on this one. I put it off until I graduated so I wouldnt have to deal with changing my address all the time...
I just finished the online portion of the application and paid my $140 application fee. I'll be looking to take the class sometime after the first of the month.
Anyone remember how long it took the initial document packet to get to them?
