So i finished my boxs, ported to around 40hz for the 2 AQ 8"s and they are powered by a Sundown 1500@2ohms.... Recieving an actual 1200-1300 watts :)
One word...................... WoW!
They are louder than my previously owned 12 HX2's in a ported box tuned to 35hz...
These 8"s are so musical they love the musci but when I want to get down and dirty holy crap.....
I guess I am going to achieve 140's on the TL. :) We will see soon enough, but I did not expect this out of these little monsters. Guess for once the Internet boner was right!
Lol,

Manual is available on JL's site plus I think they have a tutorial. The EQ (which is what you're talking about) can just be turned off. You need to worry more about the infrasonic filter and crossover settings.

Sadly there is some dumbass out there bumpin a boombox in there Caprice with Buick holes and saggy headliner.
Reminds me of an embarrassing but true story.
When I was like 13 I discovered rap music and bass. I used my allowance to buy a Realistic (Radio Shack brand) 12" subwoofer. I wired that bitch up to my cheap cassette boombox and set the speaker down into a cylindrical metal Texas Rangers trash can (about 10" diameter and 3' tall) to serve as an enclosure. It didn't hit hard or anything but it worked. Ha! I even put the whole setup in the back of my dad's Pinto (this was 1989) and cranked it when he dropped me off at school. I guess you could say that was my first system. What a doofus I was.
