Does anyone else hate when people ask this question? It makes me wonder what kind of world these people live in. It seems these people live in a world with out crime.
My normal response is "If I have the chance to protect my family and not be a victim, then ill take that chance.".

Cause I want to cover my ass, Come to my shop off of Northwest Highway and Harry Hines, you will meet some of the finest people in Dallas. And there were only 2 murders on the street in the last 3 years. WTF. Why don't you want to protect yourself. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone. :D

People go through life with blinders on. They buy into this pacifist bullshit 'if I leave them alone, they'll leave me alone' philosophy. I do not get it.

Because I can.
That is my answer.

The one I like is "If Chicago and DC are gun-free cities, why do their police need guns?" I know some anti-gun people. They feel they are safer if they close their eyes and think all guns will go away.
Because I can is my usual answer, but the real answer is because one day I might need it.

Always answer back, "Why do you need a Car??? Theres Buses, Trains, and Bikes. Cars kill more people each year than guns do!"
That usually will shut them up.

2 isntinces of shots being fired into random homes a block from my girls house in the last month was reason enough.

"I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6"
I've yet to see a college that had metal detectors, I'd take my chances.

I'll tell you what, I'll carry anyway and if I ever needed it, take the chance of getting in trouble. I seriously doubt that if someone would have had a unauthorized CHL gun on campus and stopped that guy, that the hero would be rotting in jail.
