Monarch Ammo ?

Academy carries this brand - says made in Russia - cheap 223 Remington rounds - $4.89 a box of 20. The box does not say if it is corrosive or not - anybody shoot this stuff or know about it?

Jackets are green - steel I believe - any downside to that?

Steel can score your chamber if it's a funky round. If you buy any, go through it and feel the part of the case where the bullet's seated and make sure none of them is sharp. a few licks over a stone/small file will clean it, don't be overzealous, but do check. Cheapo ammo kind of sucks for this reason.

in 9 MM they said it is basically the same thing to the winchester rounds, they said it is just as clean if not cleaner, the reason that its cheaper is because they dont have to pay tax on it since its manufactured else where????? :confused: , so i bought a box of them to try it out, also bought 3 boxes of winchester and the mega box of remmington, after shooting them all i am definately gonna stick to the monarch for just shooting at the range, not any complaints at all......but again that was in the 9 MM rounds......

Its not corrosive. I've shot tons of it.

I bought all mine when it was $1.87 a box, but that was a year and a half a go or so... (They used to sell 223 and 7.62x39 for 1.87 a box). last I hear they raised it to 2.87 a box, now 4.87 a box? Ammo increases are going insane.

9mm has killed more people than all the other pistol cartridges combined.

World War I, European powers used the 9mm in handguns (Used in War)
World War II, Germany used 9mm in handguns and submachine guns.. Killed Millions with them.

9mm is a powerful round that has proven it kills very well.

Hell, someone points a 22LR at me, I'm not going to piss them off further. That little bullet is still very deadly also...
