I have the 2 room DVR satelite from Dish Network. Our #1 remote control has been dropped a million times on our wood floor and finally broke. So i went to Wally world and bought 2 different "universal remotes". I finally found one that worked, but still cant get every feature and button to access and work the way I like... (for example, the record button doesnt work)....
so Im looking on ebay and see the regular dish remotes for like $2 and want to order one... but not sure, will they all work or is there a particular model I need?

I would check with a Dish Dealer. I know that the 2nd room remote is RF, and the 1st room is IR, so make sure you get the right one needed.

I've got tons of those #1 remotes they are silver. Do you have a 522? I can hook you up.

Id call Dish Network because since you're renting the box, Im sure they'll just give you another one, but even if they charge you, I dont see it being too much.
Also, I dont know if another remote will work that someone gives you, since it has to be programmed. If the one that runs your living room tv wont work in your bedroom, then one that someone else gives you, probably wont work either.

It is very easy to reprogram the remotes they will work from receiver to receiver. Dish gets let $50 for those remotes and like $60 for the RF remotes.
