It keeps giving me a "virt memory low" and says its makin room for shit so my comp can still run...
How can i fix it or help yall tell me what is wrong with this POS..
i am running windows XP....
I'm no pro, but you're going to have to provide more system specs than that including what you're trying to run. The obvious short answer is to either add more RAM or quit running so many programs at once.

Right click my computer, properties, advanced tab, then setting, advanced tab if running XP, then change button, Then bump up virtual memory I would bump it up to what's recommened. If you go to much beyond that it will tax the processor more.

How much memory does your computer have? If you say anything 512mb or lower, then you need to buy more physical memory.

probably a virus problem. at least thats the cause most times i see this issue. other unwanted programs are running in the background and using up all of your physical memory, so your system starts to utilize virtual memory and when that runs low you get this message obviously. what sort of virus protection are you running?

It's time to do some house cleaning and delete a bunch of crap that you don't need. You've filled up the hard drive. Oh, and more RAM always helps.

wtf does HDD space have to do with Virtual Memory?
wtf does HDD space have to do with Virtual Memory?
Virtual memory uses page files to move information between your hard drive and RAM

yes, but the message that Virtual Memory is low is from your physical ram being totally used up and Virtual Memory being mostly used. if he had a full HDD, he would get the message prompting him to run drive cleanup. Virtual memory low has nothing to do with being out of HDD space.

for some reason, everything i've found on newegg and mwave, is more expensive than frys.
so just go to frys and pick some up. or i could probably get you another 512 for like 10 bucks...

You're right. I guess that's true for the newer OS's, but the older ones wouldn't warn you when the HD space was low. Instead, you would get a VM message instead.
