View Full Version : Anybody know of this...
I have a Colt M1991A1 Series 80 that's in great shape. The barrel has 400 Corbon stamped on it. Anybody know what the hell kinda caliber it is? I was thinking .45 but I'm not sure. It's a pretty sweet gun it also comes with a kimber conversion slide for .22 .

400 corbon is a round made by corbon amunition company. It is a 45 acp necked down to 40 caliber. It is that same idea behind the 357 sig. It is a powerful round. Like 180 grain at 1300 fps. It is a good round just not cheap unless you reload. Not anymore recoil than a 45.

Get a .45 barrel and install it. Good to go.

Is this a gun at the pawn shop?

It isn't a casual shooters round for sure, and I'd say it isn't a good round for the beginning handloader. But the swappability as posted as RoadW3 suggested is a loophole that makes it worthwhile. And the barrel is something you can sell or trade easily for a good 45 barrel with cash left over, if you are so inclined.
