What's it worth? I've got a friend with some money problems, and might be able to get get this at a good price. I know they are pretty $$$ new, but what is a value of a used one? I haven't seen it yet, just from what he's telling me. Of course I won't buy anything without checking it out first, just wanted to get a good idea of value. I believe a pawn shop offered $450, so I'm thinking it is worth a bit more than that at least. Thoughts?

Depends on what model it is. I bought a used Kimber Custom TLE II for $660.
Find out what model it is.

i'm suprised that a pawn shop offered that much...not that it isn't worth it, but i figured that they would really try to low ball more than that.
it depends on what the gun is... do you know the model? black or stainless? etc. kimber makes a few different models...i have the gold match stainless II, and it's an awesome gun. btw, if you don't buy it, i'd be interested....i don't need another .45, but it's hard to pass up a good deal.:D

Yeah, I haven't even seen it yet, so I'm not sure what model. He actually went ahead and took it to the pawn shop for $450, and he said I can have the ticket to get it out by the 13th of this month, at which point it would be $517.50(I saw the pawn ticket so I know he isn't lying that they gave him $450!) He said he'd give me $600 to buy it back whenever he gets back on his feet. I figured either way, it's probably a deal, even if he can't afford to buy it back from me anytime soon. I'll check it out and get the model and all the details tomorrow. He's in the military and is a gun freak, so I know he takes care of his stuff, and probably bought the most expensive model.

It's a good deal man, go for it. I bought my Kimber Custom Classic II for like $650 new and that was a bargain. I'd pick it up before the 13'th though to avoid anything happening with paperwork at the pawn shop.

Kimbers are nice but I have never been a fan of 1911's (and yes I have owned one) It should be a good deal if it is in good shape and hasen't been shot out. Like my soon to be father in law use to shoot competitively. I would never buy one of his old 45's, they are looser than hell.

Give me the ticket.
I bought the CDP II and the stainless Ultra Carry II when they came out a few years back and sold them both for almost what I paid for them. $1089/900 for the CDP II and 870/750 for the sts UC II. (Both with night sights)
I can't imagine a Kimber 45 in any kind of shape being worth less than 650.

I love my Kimber. If I had the money and saw a great deal like this I would jump on it.

i paid 759 for my stainless ultra carry 2 and so far i love it. Its a great carry and a joy to shoot. My only issue with it is the take down needs a little material taken off of it. the slide will lock back once or twice in a 100 rounds where the round will make slight contact with it going up the ramp.
