I've installed the latest Fedora image, but I'm having problems with the boot
loader.

I have WinXP and I added a slave harddrive for the Fedora install.
The install was completed.

It won't dual boot, and I cannot get grub-install to recognize /dev/hda .
In the past I used lilo, but that is now deprecated. So grub is now the software.

I can get it into rescue mode with the CD, and I can still get back into WinXP.
It just doesnt give me the dual boot screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it were me, I would download a single floppy Linux distribution and use that to troubleshoot.

You've probably already thought of this, but what does your /boot/grub/menu.lst contain, and what does your /etc/fstab contain? Are the proper entries present?

Are you sure your windows partition is on hda? Try /dev/sda, paste up your dmesg.
