Direct Correlation: Notice Icon and Fucking Spammers

Certainly, I am not the only one that has noticed this connection.

Why do spammers use the notice icon (http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif) when posting a new thread on DFWstangs?

Is the answer to the problem of the recent influx of spammers as simple as making that icon a possible spam self reporting button?
