magnimike did a kickass job helping me get the motor back and all the odds and ends tied up. i cant wait to just cruise it again. seems like its almost been a year.
dont you just love it when you bring your car back to life after major surgery? :D

Good news, steve.
Enjoy it. I only drive my fun car everyonce in a while and it makes it more fun to own that way to me. :D Congrats.

i have the worst luck with this car. it just keeps fighting me. its like it wants to never get on the road again and just live in the garage.

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear that. When they were at the machine shop, did you have the heads and block deck surfaces checked for flatness? Were the head coolant passages pressure tested?

after the first motor blew and hydrolocked, i had the guy that did the heads and intake tested and he said they cam back fine. i dont believe they were tested for flatness though, because they did fine before they were ported. after that we decided to go ahead and use them on this new motor and assumed a head gasket or something else was wrongly installed. now i know this is not the case. i am almost to the point of selling this thing, but because its a fairmont i know i wouldnt get 1/10th of the money i have in it. consequences of making a boring car into something nice i guess.
