Help! Spyware Virus or Something!

I have this shield (flashes red x , blue ?)on the task bar and it constantly warns me about viruses and spyware. I can't even get online without constant warnings and ads for software like Virus Protect Pro. It even flashed some porn at me and warned me about needing some disk cleaner. It looks like the microsoft security shield but I think it's fake. I'm running AVG but it isn't helping.


What do I do?

Download bit defender and run it.

Everybody's info helped out.

I still can't get rid of the System Alert that keeps popping up from my toolbar. It mimics the Microsoft warnings and always directs me to this Virus Protect Pro website trying to sell me software....... I can't figure out how the kill it. I think it' some sort of greyware.

I've run several scans and changed from AVG to this BitDefender. My computer works much better and I'll be carefull not to accidentally look at any porn.

Any other ideas?

serach teh interweb. many sites show guides on how to remove certain spyware.
