Casey Stoner took the lead from Rossi with 27 minutes to go. He bettered his time during the session, getting down to 1:23.410.

John Hopkins took second spot with around 10 minutes to go, but dropped down to fourth as Melandri and Edwards turned in late fliers.

Guintoli was lapping after his crash early in the session that took out Alex Hoffman.

Rog Hayden equated himself well. Roger was in the top ten and just one tenth off brother Nicky's time, ahead of Dani Pedrosa and Kawasaki's Ant West. He was just two tenths off De Puniet, the fastest Kawasaki.

no Roger, Miguel, and Davies all got rides just for Laguna. They are replacing some injured riders.
If Roger and Davies do well it could be a big break for them

Chaz Davies rode the Pramac Ducati but wasn't listed on the T&S monitors here in the media center. He was 20th. We'll update when we get a lap time for Chaz.

Just got back from Cali. To me, last year was much better - but at least this year wasn't sweltering. Here are some quick pics. Obviously, I don't have the camera that is optimal for shooting the race. Most of these need to be zoomed and cropped...but whatever. There are tons more, but this is a fast overview. I was more into the racing this year and not so much into meeting the riders - as I did that last year. Though, I had one goal and it was finally accomplished - Rossi!
