Have y'all seen the kind that slip into your hitch receiver? I don't see HOW that can be safe... any thoughts?? It does look a LOT easier to deal w/ than a trailer though!

Great. Now I don't have to lift it very far into my truck!! Hope there is a better locking mechanism than straps.

Well, they say they're good up to 600 lbs and my receiver on my truck says the same thing. My bike weighs less than 400 and the hauler itself weighs just under 100lbs. My concern is what happens if it breaks??? Can it try to rotate in the hitch? Just seems kinda risky. BUT the price is right at under $500. I've seen some as cheap as $350 or so...

I have got one (not that big though). I used on the back of a bus for my dirt bike for roughly 2000 miles, never had an issue. The weight limit on mine is 450lbs. And its for sale for $100 :D

I thought about getting one before I bought my trailer. Just didn't look safe IMO. Doug, for probably the same price I bet you could find a small trailer with a ramp to put your bike on.

I don't understand putting one of those on a truck when the bike fits in the back. maybe an SUV, or car.

Well for me it's a PITA because my truck is up pretty high (stock hight F-150 SuperCrew). Also the bed is short so I have to keep the tail gate down. Not a big deal but still a hassle, helps if I can park next to a small hill. I could see that as being "maybe" easier to load by a single person but I wouldn't trust it.

Sounds like I just need to keep an eye out for a cheap trailer deal... I'm not in any real rush. Just thought it would be nice to have the option to take it w/ me if I wanted to... or needed to move it, etc.
