My Mitsubitshi DLP tv's bulb is going out and Mitsubitshi is making me send the WHOLE tv to them for warranty work (they will provide the bulb).
Well its gonna cost an arm and a leg to ship this TV (52incher) so what I was wondering is does anyone here know someone who can get the hookup on tv bulbs?
Shitty thing is I've only had this TV for around 6 months, and the bulb is already going out! I wonder if I can get Circuit City to fix this for me?
Anyhoo after this bulb gets replaced, i'm gonna buy a 1080p plasma or something so this will be for sale.
Model is Mitsu WD-52631 bought in Dec of 06, i'll get build date later tonight.

Huh? Why are they making you ship it? They should work with a local repair shop to come out and fix it. That's how it has worked with every TV that I've ever been around. Strange that your bulb went so fast, do you have it where it's easy for heat to build up? If you're wanting to upgrade, I maybe selling a 65" Mitsubishi WD-65731 with a 4 year complete warranty, no shipping, they come out and fix, if they can't, they replace it. It's native 1080p and only like 5 months old. I'm going to upgrade to the new WD-65734 that just came out.

Yeah I tried to get them to have someone come out and look at it, and possibly replace it on the spot but they shot that idea down. Maybe I should just call back and get a diff. rep to help me out.
I don't really want to get a rear projection tv, i'm not sure what TV i'll get to replace this but it'll be a LCD or Plasma. Heat isn't too much of an issue, at least thats what the ISF guy told me when he came out to calibrate my TV.

Not true about the heat. I'm still surprised they asked you to ship, I've never heard that on a 6 month old TV, makes no sense.
