What songs would you recommend for a car w/ a system...

Rock, hiphop, whatever...

I'm bored and want to download songs and I can't think of anymore than I already have.

If you could find Half Pint, Boom-N-Hydraulics that would be an excellent one. That shit used to thump the hell out of my old system back in the day. Everyone always mentions the Nemesis, DJ Magic Mike, stuff, but I've never heard anyone mention this one.

Lock Down Inmates, but good luck finding it online. Can't find the cd anymore either, unless you are lucky enough to run across it at a used cd place.

He made that 2 part cd soul and sweat or whatever, did his duet with kelly rowlands, and effectively fucked up all the good he had going for him in the first cd.

i think the st lunatics still rock out though

Depends on your setup. If you're loking for crazy bass, check out Bass Mechanik, or 3 6 Mafia. Guys from the car audio boards always talk about Late Night Tip from one of the 3 6 Mafia CDs, but after buying that CD, the best track for bass on there (at least in my truck) is Ridin' Spinners. LMAO - I know that's some gay shit to bump around to though.

The 311 song, Transistor, metioned earlier hits HARD in my truck as well. I play it to show off the system to people who don't necessarily dig rap.

For LOUD rock, I suggest the very first song on the old (blue) Candlebox CD. I don't remember the name of it, but you can't miss it, lol. There are also several other good songs on that CD, by the way.

Tool, Rage, System of a Down, Sublime, 311, older Metallica, etc, just for rocking and playing it loud.

If you have a solid SQ setup, I recommend:
Phil Collins - Air in the Night
Eagles - Hotel California
Michael Jackson - Billy Jean, Dirty Diana, Man in the Mirror, State of Shock
Pearl Jam - anything from Ten
Jewel - several songs, I don't know the names, kinda gay but they can really display the abilities of your system

The list goes on and on. I know there are lots of other songs I like to play loud through my system, but I can't think of them all right now.

It's a system on the list of things to do...

I'm not sure on the model numbers yet of anything, but I looked at the billy badass alpine HU, 2 JL W6s, some decent mids, and an alpine amp pushing them

I'm gonna go download the above songs Jluv, thanks

Sweet. I'm assuming, since you're in Euless, you've already been to see Eric at Autosound. If not, you should.

Alpine deck + good amps + W6s + quality components up front = great plan for a system.

What speakers are you looking at up front?

Yep, that's exactly who I spoke with. He knows his stuff. I've heard good things about JL and was set on going with them for both the sub/amp.

He said I could use one of the Alpine amps to power both JL subs and fronts. So why the heck not :D

He pointed out either Boston Acoustic or JL for the fronts.

My stuff should be back together this weekend, and i'm in Euless as well. You could hear my setup and get some ideas. I have Boston Pro60s up front and JL XRs in back. I can play them separately to compare. Both sound good, but the Bostons are amazing. They handle a ton of power, too.

Let me know when you have some time and I'll meet you somewhere...

Would you prefer the Boston over JL for the fronts? From the looks of your post i'd say yea?

This will be my first "real" system so i'm excited!

The Boston Pros are much better (in my opinion) than the XRs, but JL's best line is the ZR stuff, which I have never really demo'd. Boston has a higher series too, the Z6, but I have heard that a lot of people prefer the Pros over the Z6s anyway.

I can literally turn off all but the fronts, and then all but the rears, and you can sit in the front or back seat and demo each set individually to make up your own mind. Then again, I am running the Bostons active, so I have a lot more tuning involved than what you'll get with the passive crossovers. I am also using the Boston passive x-overs for the JLs, because one of the JL x-overs took a dump. And, I have a lot more power to the front mids. But still, you can get a good idea of what the speakers can do.

I've got all of my stock stuff, but I'll be putting it back in if I ever get rid of the Sploder. I actually have a set of JL TR 5x7s that work fine, but I promised them to Tiffany if I ever get around to fixing up her ride. To be honest, I think I do have an extra pair (or maybe two) of stock 5x7s laying around somewhere. You can have them.

Nice. I'm not sure if 5x7's fit, but i'll go look later.

I gotta go unbox a bunch of raid shit in the server room. p's!
