I've never seen what a Vizio looks like in person. I know that ESPN 103.3 does or did use to advertise them...
I remember best buy having a really cheap plasma (999.99 or 899.99) and as I remember, that TV SUCKED. It had terrible picture, no tuner, and just plain sucked.
Sometimes with these TV's you get what you pay for. Now, like I said, I've never seen Vizio in person...
Secondly, I don't know about getting a TV shipped. It also looked like it said there was a 200 dollar shipping fee.
This is just my two cents, but If you get it, please give us a review!!

I like Vizio TVs. My dad got one at Costco (similar model, LCD though, and 1080i). The picture is phenominal with his Direct TV. We watched Planet Earth on it on Discover HD and, next to his other Mitsu DLP, it was top five one of the best pictures I have seen on a flat panel TV.
Just as well, Vizio TVs are made my the same company that was making Polaroid TVs for a while. I think it was either Samsung or Hitachi..maybe Toshiba...one of the big name TV makers.

Vizio's are OK.
Stay away from Akai's and Syntax Olevia's, though.

Does the "refurbished" part of that ad scare anyone but me? It's not much of a warranty, either, especially on a "used" set.
By the time you add $200 for shipping, it isn't that great of a deal for a refurbished unit with a 90-day warranty. Maybe I'm missing something.

Sears had this tv on special for 850 new in store.
You may want to call and see if that still have it...
Circuit city had it a few weeks back for 800-900ish :)
Thanks
Jon
For one, i do home theater and car audio for a living. The visio is a cheap cheap version...As one user stated, you get what you pay for. Put it side by side to a real good brand like the panasonic or hitachid hdf series, and youll see the really sharpness and line clarity sucks on the vizio, as with any cheap tv like that it comes from the factory with brightness and hughes way up on the boards factory defaults...Thats why it appears brighter out of the box, but as anyone knows with plasma that shortens the life span, but they expect that as long as it lasts the year promised. But if you REALLY want a cheap Vizio, there was a company selling them new in the box i think out of Richardson for $750 new and pickup only...From experience with refurb, i sure wouldnt buy one or anything refurbed without some type of extended warranty on it. Just my experience and 2 cents worth.

Dman - where do you do home theatre for a living? Just curious.
The company in Richardson is 'allied semi-conductor' and they are kinda expensive for the models they are offering.

yea i think that the pricing on that tv could be a little cheaper. because when you add the shipping which is around $200 it will bring the price to around 800-900 range.
