What the fuck is wrong with your brethren?
Games aren't selling out.
People can't GIVE away tickets to the Finals. That is when you know you suck.
The crowd that DOES show up, is just plain fucking WEAK. Pretty damn sad when the watching party at the away team's home stadium is louder than the fucksticks actually at the Finals.

Last time I checked both final games were sold out. I went to game one and I thought the crowd was great, but seriously how long and how hard should you cheer for when your team is up 20 points 3/4 of the game. Unlike Dallas' fans we have been to the dog and pony show before and won it all so its kind of expected.

11 points isn't exactly a blowout. And the Spurs could have very easily lost last night, BTW.

No, they weren't sold out. I passed on some tickets because I knew I wouldn't be able to sell them for face value. Empty seats all over the place.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the Spurs at all. I mean, I can't stand them and I hope Cleveland pulls it out of their ass and beats them. But this thread wasn't intended to turn in to a bashing or flame fest on who's better, etc.
I just never realized how shitty their fan base was until this year. A buddy lost $2000 on Spurs playoff tickets. He couldn't even sell them with a buy it now price of $1.00. You gotta admit, that's pretty sad.

Can't bash the team for anything so you bash the fans. Standard. I'll admit the atmosphere in the AT&T Center isn't the greatest, but let me give you some explanations:
1. Fans are spoiled. The old Hemisphere Arena and even the Alamo Dome were much louder because the Spurs weren't winning championships. When the Spurs made the playoffs, everyone embraced it. Now, everyone expects it. It's championship or bust for SA fans. Look at Utah or GS fans. Both teams hadn't been to the playoffs in years and those fans let it be known that they were proud of their team and were going to give them the best home court advantage possible.
2. Ticket costs. Let's face it, SA isn't the most wealthy city in America. I remember when you could get an upperdeck ticket in the Alamo Dome for $5. Times have changed. It seems fans in SA would rather stay home than dish out for tickets. Not really an excuse, but it's just how it is now down there.
3. The games that don't sell out, don't sell out because they release a small amount of tickets on the day of the game. Most people don't know this. Unless you're aware of this, you're not going to get tickets. I looked at Ticketmaster on the day of Game 1 and I could pick up singles for $187 a piece down low. Not exactly what I was looking for.
4. The games are blowouts. I know this will be difficult for Dallas fans to understand, but honestly, I doubt I'd want to be loud at a game where my team is up by 30. If the players are having a hard time keeping their intensity, how can you expect the fans to? These first 2 games were over at halftime. You really think fans are going to be deafening when up by 30, expecting to win your 4th championship? Doubtful.
SA has probably the most passionate fan base (loyal, knowledgable, etc) but I'll admit the crowd is one of the weaker ones in the playoffs. But somehow, we'll survive.
BTW, there's got to be more to the story of your buddy losing $2000 tickets for a $1 buy it now. I find that very hard to believe unless they were put on Ebay during halftime or something. If he has anymore tickets, I will gladly pay $1 or maybe even $2 for them.

 You have to admit, for a team being in the Finals the fans are WEAK. Again, last night was far from a blowout. SA *almost* fucked that game off. Had the Cavs been able to pull off 1 out of 4 rebounds, I believe SA would have lost, no doubt in my mind.

Nope. No more to the story. First round of the playoffs. He bought 16 apirs of tickets. Didn't sell a single pair. Had them all up on ebay, long before they ever went on sale to the public. Kept relisting when necessary. Last time listed was for $1, plus shipping. Couldn't sell them. The ONLY reason I made any money off of my Spurs playoff tickets, is because I sold them to the company I work for. Otherwise, they would be sitting in the bottom of my trash can.

Give me a break dude. Not once during that game did SA lose control. If you watch the Spurs like you say you do, you know they let teams back in the game after huge leads. It's human nature to let down the intensity if you're up by 30. They did it against Phoenix, Utah, and now Cleveland. Not once last night were they in jeopardy of losing the game. Nervous? Are you kidding me? I know this team. No, I wasn't nervous one bit when they blew the lead because they've done the same thing atleast 5 times so far in the playoffs. I haven't been nervous since Game 6 of the Phoenix series. This team has too much talent, heart, and experience, for me to get nervous when another team makes a run.

The spurs are a good team that knows how to win which is pretty evident by their championships. The thing that bothers me about them is that every one of their players is a master of the flop and are so good at it they usually fool the officials. One prime example was Robert Whory at the end of the first half last night. Lebron went straight up with his arm and Whory flew back 10 feet across the floor complaining to the officials. He wasn't even touched by anyone. I'm starting to think that Popabitch teaches the art of flopping in practice.

So let me get this straight. Since your buddy was a dipshit and bought 16 pairs of tickets thinking he could double or triple his money, but in the end he lost his ass the spurs fans suck. LoL this is San Antonio not L.A. or New York were people will drop 5k on a pair of tickets like no tomorrow. I think when it comes down to it the average hard core fan that isn't walking around with a shit load of money doesn't even think they have a chance at getting a ticket to the finals so they don't even try.
One more thing, just because there are empty seats doesn't mean the tickets were not sold and that it isn't a sell it out. Have you ever thought there is 10 other idiots like your freind that buy tickets and then can't sell them so that is why the seats are empty. I talked to my buddy that works for the spurs and he confirmed that both games were sold out. I was at game 1 and they annouced it was a sell out crowd.

Didn't bother buying any more Spurs tickets after what happened in Round 1, because they obviously didn't sell.
