I saw on G4TVs star wars marathon that George Lucas was planning on 2 more SW movies. Any truth to this? I'll begin looking it up.

I had heard that there are 9 books total and we have the first 6 now. But I also heard that George Lucas said he wasn't going to make the last 3.

Ok I looked it up and this is the most recent article I could find.
They are of the Star Wars "milieu" but are not a continuation of the current Star Wars (ie Episode 7 and 8) they are to take place in the timeframe between Episode 3 and 4 and won't include the Skywalker family. They will be an hour long and air on TV but no specific channel has been determined.

i doubt it.

i just recently saw george lucas in a interview and he didn't sound optimistic about making anymore star wars movies.

But there are two TV series in production. First the animated Clone Wars, then later, a live action show.

Just because Empire was the best movie (thank you Irvin Kershner) every nerd from here to Hong Kong knows that's the answer to the next great movie.

Nothing to do with fanboyism, has EVERYTHING to do with money. The franchise is too valuable as a cash cow to resist. Hell, they could cast Jerry friggin Sienfield as an evil sith lord and it would still sell like crazy.
