You guys sound like coldplay meets emo. I'm sure chicks dig it though, and we know that's all that matters!

Not sure I hear the emo part, but yeah, our old stuff gets the "Coldplay" reference a lot.
Our new stuff is WAY different. We're demo tracking it now, and we go into Spaceway Studios to start recording at the first of August. Once that CD's done, we'll never hear the Coldplay thing again, haha.

I thought the house of blues featured actual blues

Dallas has to have some other sort of musical venue other than the crappy Smirnoff and horrible Paladium since they decided to do away with Deep Ellum.

What happened to Deep Ellum? I thought that was a neighgborhood, not an actual place. Sorry, I don't get out much.

It's not a place, per se, but all of the music venues down there have been shut down aside from Red Blood Club, which will probably close down for the 10,000th time in a few months.

Strangely enough, Curtain Club is still open. So is Club Dada. The Gypsy Tea Room is about to be The Door's new home.
Other than that, yeah, Deep Ellum makes me sad.

Did Dada close for a short time? I think there was a sign on the front of it the last time I was down there.

Yep. The last owner let the taxes go to hell, and it went bankrupt at the end of last year.
Then, the guys from Hard Night's Day (the Beatles tribute band) and a few of their lawyer friends who dug music, pooled together and bought the place. It's actually pretty nice, now.
