encryption and MAC filtering. 128bit wep minimium but WPA or WPA2 if your router/clients support it. Read the manual for your unit and it should tell you how to do it all.

WEP is the best encryption on the market at the moment.

exsqueeze me?
I can crack a 64 bit WEP key in 10 minutes easy. 128 bit WEP key can be done in under two hours usually.
Mac filters are a joke too.

Id personally suggest you use a WPA at least 8 characters long and alpha-numerically mixed. Of course you can get stricter, but the availability of information and cards to crack WEP is way too abundant to still be using that shit.

agreed. having some sort of encryption will at least protect random user. not just anyone plays around with cracking wep. not to mention that shows a little more effort. the only time I usually mess with wep cracking is work or a client. most users will go for the weakest link. also wireless for home is different than a corp environment. Just ask TJ Max :)

Either

1) dont connect anything to the wireless access point, and turn off all of you WiFi cards

2) turn off the wireless access point
