After sitting for a bit it goes to the desktop goes away and just has my user and the number of programs running. It is xp home. All the power settings look to be normal.

try turning off "ask for password" on your screensaver settings

I would highly suggest leaving it on.

Your SO might want to look around on your account for a family member could.....

I didnt say it was a good idea to turn it off, but if he wanted it to stop doing what its doing so badly, thats how to solve it

ya, I ment it to another board member that OWNED me because of that...

actually, owned both of us...

It doesnt ask for a password though.

Got it. Under screen savers box was checked for "On resume show welcome screen."
