256MB nVidia Geforce 7300LE TurboCache
256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro
256MB nVidia GeForce 8600 GTS
Pricing out parts for a new computer and wanted to know what the differences are between these 3. Also, would there be any issues (like I've had with my older Geforce card) running games like Battlefield 2 and Doom 3?

the 7300 is a little weak. not too sure about the ATI, but out of those, id suggest the 8600

I'll put it this way, video cards always confuse the crap out of me and I have to relearn everything until I buy a new one and do a brain dump. What *I* do is search heavily for benchmarks, paying attention to the scores to ensure unbiased benchmarks.
I used to just pay attention to clock/mem speeds, but realized that ATI vs Nvidia speeds are different...sort of like AMD vs Intel. So I save my brain and just look at the benchmarks and try to make an educated decision from there based off needs, price and so forth.

The 8600GTS should be a decent choice. I believe supports DX10 so when those games come out you should be ok.
I run a 256mb 7900gs and it seems to handle most of the current games pretty well.

I'd go with the nvidia 8600 GTS. I dont think you'd have a problem with Battlefield 2 on that video card. Doom 3 I dont know about cause I dont play it, but my guess is it would be fine for both.

turbocache shares ram with your system ram.
Both the 7300/1300 are weak for games, but the 8600 is head and shoulders above them.
Go with that one (8600)
