Internet wont always stay connected

Hey guys im having a problem with my girls 2 computers (actually both her and her roomates computers) None of them will stay connected to AIM or any website that has any kind of streaming video or audio (like myspace). Any idea what it could be? They connect fine to limewire but if i try to download anything it will only do it for about 10 seconds and then it stops.

She's got time warner cable internet if that helps any. TIA!

I had that problem, it was the fact that my modem was by a high voltage device (my battery backup). Make sure it is away from other devices.
