Just wondering if I could possibly get a desktop system for around $400... my gaming pc of just over 2 yrs took a dump on me and instead of replacing stuff I would rather just get a new system... If I can that is....

I checked Dell.com and the only system they have at that price point comes with some shitty thirty dollar processor which I refuse to buy.

BTW, I also like to play games such as Warcraft and Counterstrike, so a system with expandable graphics/memory is a must.(But nothing fancy, for sure ;))

Thanks for any help!

Also, all I need is the Computer itself. I have all the peripherals. :D

You could build one....

If you don't go that route, next best thing is eBay =)

check into newegg.

The dual core amd 3600 is a great deal and overclocks nicely that or check into the fry's cpu/board combos and you could always upgrade the board later.

Thanks for the tips guys, I will check out Newegg.com and Fry's tonight.

One more thing; My old PC starts up and all, except there is no output to the monitor. Like you can hear it booting up and all but the monitor doesn't come on or anything. My neighbor that works for some tech place says its my mobo... Does that seem right? And would just replacing the mobo be worth it? (I found a replacement on ebay for $15 +s&h).

Thanks again,

Taylor

check newegg for barebones systems too. cases w/ mobo and PSU already in them, just add memory, proc and HDD. you can salvage the optical drives from your old machine
