View Full Version : Fall Cruise - Guaging interest...

yes, It's that early!

I've been contacted by a different track to ask if we'd like to come to their house for the fall cruise. This track's a little longer. ;)

Nothing is carved in stone, no plans are made, nothing is final. I just wanted to get the word out and see who's interested in running a little longer venue.

The "good weekends" are booked through the end of October so we'll be there late late October or possibly early November.

This will not substitute or normal cruise either. We may be there with another club, only time shall tell though.

Comments?

Longer track sounds like fun!!! I vote YES! Plus if this is just in addition of the "normal" fall cruise then I say, the more cruises the merrier.

Brooks I think it would be a great idea explore other tracks & see what they have to offer DFWStangs.

I just want to make something clear as well.. This is NOT to detract from TXR, I feel a sense of loyalty towards that track and they've catered to our every need EVERY TIME we've been there. For that reason alone, we'll be there over and over.

I'll try to space the events out a little better to keep the interest.

I'm not sure that I would race in a longer track but I would attend and I'm sure it would be fun regardless....

I definitely agree with this. TXR rolled out the carpet when others would not, and we should remember that. I would be for trying a different track only if it does not sour relations with TXR.

Damn, wish I had over drive. :( I could run it on motor, but I think the bottle would make me shut down prior to the lights.

This might ruin it. It won't be "just us" anymore.

Depending on what board it is we could make it a board shoot out.

Agreed, but it was not my idea - and I may not have any say in the whole deal.

We actually tried that, I posted a couple of threads on LS1Tech (I think) and very few of them showed.

Once again, I agree. I don't think it will sour relations, but I am going to check with them first.

A summer cruise at night under the lights would be cool, too.

Do the regular events at Kennedale out of loyalty and hold one at Ennis in late October to November.....just not the same weekend as Clash of the Titans (weekend following Thanksgiving in Houston) and not the same weekend as NASCAR is in town which I believe is first weekend in Nov............a mid Nov. date would be great! A longer track is mo betta!

as long as its on Sunday I'm down :D.

You know what has happen is these other tracks are seeing what big of a hit we have when we do our cruise. Since we don't have that many a year is what makes it big. Now that want some of the actions. Its going to take alot for another track to cater our needs to even think about competing against TXR.

I'm in as long as I'm in town. I have plans of being in South Dakota hunting about that same time of year, but the hunting season is longer than one weekend. So I'm sure I can work something out.

1/8th mile is 7.49 I thought and I don't think it will do that with me...

It might go 11.49 which is cage territory 1/4 mile stuff...we'll see if I get the new parts on for that cruise or not...fast 90/90 ported NW TB and Intake with new lid and MAF woot!

They let me run at Kennadale up to a 7.40 & if I ran faster then that I was booted! I just hit the breaks at the end :D
