This is the meeting info on the KODFWStreets. The rules are FINAL, The location is FINAL, The format is FINAL.

The location is:

IHOP
1801 N. Belt Line Rd
Irving, TX 75061-1509
MAP AND DIRECTIONS (http://ihop.know-where.com/ihop/cgi/site?site=01468&address=)

The meeting time is 7:30 (Yes, it's early - we only do this 2 times a year, get over it)
We will leave at 9:00 SHARP, ON TIME! BE THERE ON TIME, DO NOT MISS THE DETAILS!

The format is simple: 3 runs back to back to back, the top 3 averages are going to get prizes and payback. (not sure of the total yet). Remember, you are not necessarily racing the guy in the other lane - you are after a good average.

A special sticker, or number designating the car/driver as the participant in the cruise will be given at the meeting place.

The rules are simple -

If you are brave enough / dumb enough to drive it on the street for 20 or 30 miles then it's good enough for me. I don't care if you drive on slicks, I don't care if you drive with open headers, I don't care if you have A/C or P/S... I don't care period. If you can't keep up with the group and the lead car then you aren't a STREET car - we will NOT be speeding. We will probably assign a "special" number at the breakfast place to put on your car so that we will know who is in the street cruise/race.
All you have to do is make 2 or 3 passes (haven't determined that yet) with out trouble. You can inflate / deflate tires. You can add fuel, you can open the hood, you can do whatever - I DON'T CARE.

I am, in no way, advocating that you break the law to race in our cruise. If you get pulled over, get tickets, go to jail - it's your responsibility.

EDIT - I talked to Chris at the track last night. The plan is to drive to the track, directly pull in the gate, and striaght into lanes 6 and 7. We will let some of the TNT go before and then run the "street" cars between 11:30 and Noon.

THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE - CHECK THIS FIRST POST OFTEN. (Nothing major will be changed as far as I know)

If it's a real street car, you have nothing to worry about. We are in it for the cruise, not to get to the track as "quick as possible". I can promise you that there will be some stop lights involved - plenty of them.

i asked the same question.

he say's he would actually rather us cruise there on street tires and change to slicks on the track that way there is no tickets issued. so yes, you are able to change to slicks at the track.

as for the stop lights, street car or not, it would be easier to keep the group together with less street lights, ...... just sayin.... if hallf the group gets stuck behind the light.... they = fucked.... and better hope the lead car knows where they're going.

I don't know if Brooks wants to go down Beltline to 30 or go back North to 183 and take all highway but I'm assuming the cruise is going to be about 55 mph or so that will give everyone plenty of time to catch up.

Yes, for those who asked - you can change your tires. Remember, I don't care :D

All of your changes will need to be made IN THE STAGING LANES. We will pull in straight from the gate to the staging lanes - we'll cool down and probably race at noon.

We'll discuss that at the breakfast meeting.

We will be doing the posted speed limit which ever way we decide to go. You need to be able to keep up. (i.e. highway speeds).

Nate, The route we will actually take will probably be different than what I told you via PM's.

I would go 183 to 820 South take the Kennedale exit and you are almost there.

Almost all highway with just the few lights that are in Kennedale that are unavoidable.

If I don't ride with Brooks I may bring my bike and hang up front with Nate.

I would suggest the lead and trail cars have radios so they can keep in contact. There may be some info that should be relayed back and forth. Especially if the group gets broken up the trail car can become the new lead car for the second group. Use the family radios and tell everyone what channel you will be on if they have their own radio they can tune in.

Fred - I like the idea of where the merge is at, I didn't even think of that. There is only the one light between IHOP and that merge if I remember right.

Greg, let someone drive your car on the cruise and you can race in the KODFWStreeets. I can't let you not participate in this part of the cruise and then race in the event, as I've already told numerous others the same thing - it wouldn't be fair to them. I realize the drive from Mckinney is probably much longer - it's just the fact of everyone bieng together. Besides the idea is to catch some of the "streetcars" breaking down on the side of the road :)
