I just received my assembled AR upper and a stripped lower receiver and parts kit. A buddy of mine was supposed to come up from Austin this weekend and instruct me on assembling the lower receiver. Family issues came up on his end so he was a no show and can't come up for another month. Anyone good at building these? :D

I have read this before, I just know I will blow a detent or a spring across the room and lose it. Well if I want to go shoot it tomorrow, no guts- no glory. I bought the kit from Del-Ton through the AR-15.com site.

Done!
It was easier and quicker than I thought it would be. I will range test it tomorrow.
Just to back up information from other threads it was a lot cheaper buying a kit than buying a complete rifle.
I bought a complete upper from Del-ton with a Wilson arms barrel and a Stag Arms lower receiver (they were out of stock on DPMS lowers) and the lower parts kit. Cost minus shipping was right at $575.00
Any "complete" rifle they sell on their site close to what I bought start at $680.00 +.

Best way to do it.
You saved money and know how the rifle works.
