Do any of you CHL folks get hassled at the airport? No, I was not packing in the airport. The past several times I have flown I have practically been given the "Ol' Body Cavity Search". I asked the crack security force they have at DFW and Love Field they wont say a word.
Last time I was in Mexico I got the same crap so I asked a supervisor when I got singled out and he looked at the computer and said "CHL". Anyone else catch crap when they fly?

I don't see where they would have this info at the security check. All they see is your boarding pass/drivers license.

The only time I've pulled aside and searched was when I set the metal detector off for a second time, I had on button fly jeans that were setting it off

You don't have to ask anything.... I simply carry my gun (in a case, unloaded, but bullets in a box) into the airport and check it in at the checkin counter. They tag it, and you stick it in your luggage, and send it on it's way... That's the ONLY way CHL or not to take your gun with you when you fly.

Are your tickets one way when you fly? If so they will give you the "special" treatment every time you fly.

I have done the same and have never had a problem. Just make sure it is an approved case and is unloaded.... Oh yeah and when you go up to check the luggage I wouldn't yell " I gotta gun in here ".

No, Every time I fly it's round trip. I guess I am on someones "shit list". I stroll up to the counter check my luggage give them my ticket and I.D.- they look at it- call a supervisor over, they look at it put a red "X" on my ticket. I proceed to the security checkpoint and the fun begins!

Odd. I've flown a decent amount and I've had my CHL since 1999. I have only been pulled aside once. I'm not sure how airport security would have TCIC access to know that you have a CHL. Weirdness.
