I only want to spend 450 or less and would prefer a 1911 style gun with a 4" barrel

Like Tony said, the Equipment Exchange on AR15 is probably going to be your best bet. I have gotten some killer deals on there. It seems to be the only place I buy now.

Every now and then you can also find pretty good deals on GunBroker.

what did that kimber run you and what model?

I paid $669 for a Custom TLE II.... It was used... I did an inspection and it was fine... took it to the range and put 200, .45 rounds through it... works like a charm...

I also bought the .22LR conversion kit which is really fun to shoot... Shot 200 rounds of .22 and it was a lot more fun and a hell of a lot cheaper... I added the houge grips...

So far, very nice gun...
