Looking to wait tables nights and weekends to earn some extra cash starting in 2 weeks. Preferably in the Addison or uptown area due to my current residency and day job. Have applied at several places, but have no exp. so i'm not having much luck as of yet. Any leads would be appreciated.

Dont shoot for a high end place with no experience. Look for a popular place like Chilis or Fridays.

BlackFinn in Addison. I have a couple buddies that work there and it's easy money. No experience, they'll train you. Buddy of mine was making $100-$150 on slow nights and this was back when they first opened. I've been in the service industry for 5+ years and as long you have common sense and are able to keep up with several things at once then you'll do fine.

since you have a day job go to a place like texas land and cattle.. you will get off at a decent hour and still make alittle cash.... just lie on your app saying you worked at a restaurant that went out of buisness. they will never know

Nabbed me a position Friday. thanks for the input guys, i'll hold on to it in case this gig doesn't work out or for when I move to California next year and start this process all over again.

Some of my fellow actors have worked there and enjoyed it. Right now I work too late at my day job but eventually i'd like to try and get in the show. With my theater background they did ask me about it, but again, I don't get off work till 6pm.

Yea, I don't really talk about it much on here. But yea, I was definately gunning for the Medieval Times gig over the others. There aren't many jobs like medieval times where you can get professional stage combat training, free on top of that. Hopefully I can make the most of my time there. Start out as a server, eventually move into the show. Put one on my work resume, the other on my actors resume. 2 birds, 1 stone. :cool:
