What is the most amount of body fat that i could lose and remain healthy in the next month. I have not been working out AT ALL. Drinking cokes and eating crap. I am going to clean it all up. Drink only water and milk when needed. What do you think ?
I am 5'11'' and 205 lbs at 15% -17% body fat. I am really shooting to get to about 190 and about 8 % if I do ANY kind of ANYTHING. I started my cardio today and pushups. I can do around 55 pushups in a row until i collapse and can run about 3 miles and then my achilles tendons feel like they are going to explode. I am doing this for 1 month then getting back into lifting .

I'd say, starting out, you could reasonably lose 2 in a month.

If you worked very hard id say you could get down to 11 maybe.
I think adding weight training now would help you lower you're body fat a lot faster also.

Im not doing any cardio except for a warmup sometimes and have 11% BF.

hmm....that sounds reasonable i guess...i was hoping for more....I am really hoping my muscle memory from pre-surgery will kick in. I was at 215 at around 9% could be lower some days but hovered around there.

I have been a bump on a log other than playing basketball once a week for around 2 hrs.

is doing cardio 2 times daily pushing it too much(EARLY MORNING/LATE NIGHT) I have a really low resting heart rate so it is hard for me to get my hr up into the "TARGET" zone . (47-52 beats per min).

Watch your achilles... exploding achilles are not too fun and once they explode your body fat will increase a few percentage over a few months.

If that’s your true body composition, the simple math is that you are looking to lose between 15.5 and 19.5 pounds of body fat, and gain between .5 and 4.5 pounds of lean mass to get to 190lbs and 8% bodyfat, depending on where in the 15-17% range you are. Both of these are quite achievable, but don’t expect to do it in a month. I’d suggest cleaning up your diet, getting daily cardio, and setting your sights at 1.5-2lbs of fat per week. If you keep your diet clean, and your calories adjusted properly, you can lose most of the excess bodyfat without sacrificing lean mass, you’ve just got to be patient. At a full 2lbs per week you are looking at 8-10 weeks to lean up, and then you can focus on adding back that lean mass. You can certainly lose weight faster than that, but it’s gonna be a longer road on the back end to put the lost muscle back on, and it also mean that you’ll need to get below 190lbs to reach 8%, as you will have less lean mass.

Building muscle is the best fat burner. Too much cardio taxes the muscles and you lose mass. You can get to a lighter weight and your skinfold test would reveal the same results without weightlifting. It goes deeper but that's the "skinny."
