What is the deal with one of these kits?

Is it semi-auto, or full?

What is needed to complete it?

What is needed to buy it/own it?

Is it quality made parts, is there gunsmithing required?

Been researching C&R license. Looks like a great hobby.

That is exactly what it is. A parts kit. It's an L1a1 that has been demilled and now everything minus the receiver and barrel on that kit are availible. Parts kits widely vary on quality. Some will be brand new guns that were just cut up and some will have the shit destroyed out of them.

You dont need anything to buy it since it's not a functioning gun. To make it functioning you need to buy a metric FAL semi auto receiver and obviously a barrel. Receiver can be bought through/ordered same as going to your FFL to buy a gun. You must also include 10 US made parts into the rifle for it to be legal by Federal law.

Putting them together is easy. Mainly just screwing stuff together. But You should definately find a qualified FAL builder to help you out on your first.
