JOB SUMMARY:
This announcement closes on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
This position is responsible for performing a variety of enforcement functions related to the investigation, identification, apprehension, prosecution, detention and deportation of aliens and criminal aliens, and apprehension of absconders from removal proceedings. Incumbents regularly enter hostile situations and may be required to make decisions affecting the life, well being, and/or civil liberties of aliens, the public, and other law enforcement officers, as well as impacting relations between the U.S. and other governments
6) There is an urgent need to fill positions in the following locations: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Detroit, MI; Austin, TX; Harlingen, TX; and St. Paul, MN.
7) Recruitment/relocation bonuses of $5,000, less applicable federal and state taxes, are being offered for the following locations until the Agency's critical shortage is met: Lumpkin, Stewart County, Georgia; Des Moines, IA; Sioux City, IA; Grand Island, NE; North Platte, NE; Sioux Falls, SD; Rapid City, SD; Anchorage, Alaska; Eugene, OR; Portland, OR; Spokane, WA; Yakima, WA; Alamosa, CO; Brush, CO; Craig, CO; Grand Junction, CO; Cheyenne, WY; Casper, WY; and Twin Falls, ID.

They are gonna put you through the academy and you will have to learn Spanish through a 6 week course. 38k-41k starting pay.

This would be a tough job for no other reason than the illegals have more rights than the officers and have no problem whining about mistreatment.

And the Academy is like 5 months and in New Mexico then you ahve to relocate to a border city. I went down for the testing in Arlington a few onths back and it was 6+ hrs of hell.

I think you are talking about Border Patrol Officer and there Academy is located somewhere in New Mexico. But the Customs enforcement officer you will not be relocated to a border city. They have Customs officers at airports and they have easy jobs but of course they got 20 plus years to hold that job.

Is this the same thing as being an I.C.E. agent? Cause I have a step cousin that works as an Immigration & Customs Enforcement agent that just got out of training and is working down in Austin. He trained out at the federal training center in Georgia I think. He loves the job though.
