Perhaps some have come across this. My yugo is acting as if its a bolt action rifle.Ive been told make sure the cosmaline is out, and Ive seen none in the gas tube, Ive been told that the gas valve for the gernade launcher as well as the piston and of course make sure your rifle is clean. Before I go and buy more parts and throw them @ it or a better solvent to soke the old ones in has anybody come across this issue?

Did you make sure the selector switch is not set to grenade mode? :D
Go search on the surplusrifle.com forums or any number of SKS boards for the fixes, I can't remember them offhand. It sounds like either your gas valve is bad or the o-ring for the gas tube is bad. I highly doubt it's the piston if it's not caked in cosmolene, it's probably a leak upstream of it. Make sure the gas port between the gas valve and barrel isn't obstructed too. I think I remember reading where a guy made a new o-ring/shim for his gas tube and that fixed it. There was a guy on one of those boards selling new machined gas valves for under $20.

That's what i was going to suggest too. I had a buddy that had his set to grenade and we rolled up on a heard of pigs and he fired a shot, noticed a new round didnt chamber, cussed, racked a new round in and fired again. He did get 3 shots off before they were gone...compared to my 8 or 9 shots. Funny stuff.

No I wish it was that simple (gas valve being off ) the surplus rifle site does explain and reccomend replacement of the valve due to this problem but the one he used is no longer available for purchase so... I do know this, I built a bad ass Rifle out of that yugo.T6 adjustable stock, scope, 20 round tapco mag, and bi-pod. I hog hunt as well and this was to be a good hog rifle meanwile the damn thing shoots like a bolt actiion!!

Those other two links I posted do have the valves for sale. I hope that gets you fixed up!
