How hard is it to get a class III gun? I'm really liking those little silenced Ruger MkII's, what am I looking at?

If you live in the city of Dallas it will be almost impossible unless you're incorporated or create a trust. I've only talked to one person who managed to get a CLEO sign-off living in Dallas.

If you pretty much live anywhere else it's just a matter of having money.

I dont really think its about the dough

You have to have a judge/police chief like sign off on you from what I have read.

You shouldn't have any trouble getting a sign off since you live in a small town. Whenever you get your paperwork started from the dealer or individual. Set up an appointment with your Sheriff or Chief of Police. Or if you can get the DA or a District Judge. Get 2 passport photos, fingerprinted, fill out the proof of citizenship form, $200 tax check and then wait usually 30 days. Or if you can create a trust or if you have a company go through you corporation and skip the signatures a fingerprint cards.

And buy money I was speaking in the general term that most Class 3 items can be expensive given the item.

Thanks, man. I'm looking at the gemtech MkII, since it's the only one piece receiver/suppressor I could find on the market, kind of like those new AR upper receiver/quad rail one piece units.

EDIT: I think I'll get a haircut before I go see any of those folks, though.

Yeah. When you set up your appointment. Only mention that it's regarding some BATFE/Department of Justice Forms. Most CLEOs are clueless about this stuff. So it's best to explain face to face than over the phone with their secretary who will probably confuse it more. That is unless you for sure know whichever individual you will be seeing is Class 3 friendly.
