Honda CB 450 Head removal

I think this is a shot in the dark, but I have a Honda CB 450 motor that I need to take the head off and inspect the pistons and junk. I have no idea how to take the timing chain off to take the head off. I will buy a shop manual tomorrow, but I want it off now :p Is Clymers a good manual to buy?

I am going to build a go kart with the motor.

Try to google the Honda CB Forum, I lost the link but used to belong to it awhile back. They may even host a manual you can download.

There are forums but they arent very popular I bought a manual off of eBay.
