Sorta of like getting stuck on Diet Coke. There is no way in hell I can drink regular coke now.
Same with skim milk. If I drink my daughter's 2% milk it's like I'm drinking butter.
Oh yea, I shouldn't have said jelly (my wife would shoot me)... homemade strawberry preserve.

Almond milk > x1000 than any kind of cow milk :D

Just had a pint of Hagen Das Mango Sorbet as well. 100 miles on the bike tomorrow, I'm carbing up. :D Yum...
I drink about 2 gallons of skim milk a week. Almost like water for me.
I should have titled the thread... "There ain't nuttin' better to me..."

Eh, the proteins in cow milk are more usable by the human body than those in almond milk.

Well cow milk does have more protein after all, but that's why I usually combine almond milk with soy milk (besides, almond tastes better :D ). The problem with cow milk is that the older we get, the less we absorb the nutrients due to the lactose.

You can drink milk after running? Anything other than water for me and I feel like it's going to come up.

That's like that thread Forrest made about diesel smoke smelling great:
"Heaven smells like...
Cooter"
I think someone is still using that as their sig.

Hell, after I run for two hours my tummy is growling!
My recovery drink after an endurance activity over 90 minutes is 16 ozs of skim milk with 6 table spoons of sugar mixed in.

Yes, but also we can use more of the amino acids in cow milk proteins than we can in vegetable proteins (incl. soy).

Is that an organized ride, or a training ride?

By saying this, are you suggesting that the word "use" is in reference to what the body is able to absorb or the quantity?

Training. I don't do much organized riding... they don't like my aerobars (full aerobars configured for tris, not clip ons). :D
But... I did head over to Richardson Bike Mart and get me a Trek 1500 (with full Ultegra) today on sale. I had to do it because the Trek 1500 is spec'd with 105 comps. and for whatever reason this one carried Ultegra. Put some Campagnolo Record Pro clipless and a CatEye wireless and it was good to go. Not a bad deal, a little over a grand.

Not the world's most advanced bike but the roadies won't treat me like a leper anymore. Does get tiring being in aero position all the time so this is a cheap way to get more upright.

The roadies would be all over the tri-geeks because of a lack of control with the aero bars in a pack...better known as "squirrels" ;) . Times have really changed. I remember 8 speed DuraAce rigs for the same money as the Ultegra stuff is now. Truth be known, the Ultegra line is a far better value than the DuraAce is. Most people (including myself in my high-mileage days) won't get their money's worth with the DuraAce.

fuck a bunch of milk after a run, I downed gatorade and water and carried oranges to eat on the run. But I haven't ran more than 4 or 5 miles at a time in 3 years. I wish I could hit 15 or more again :(
