Eric Gagne will start the season on the disabled list. I know someone on here predicted it.
Actually, its not for an injury but for him to get more time to throw. They hope to have him ready by April 15th. In the meantime, Otsuka will be the closer.

BTW...has Sosa officially made the team?

Sosa is on the team.

Man I wanted to go to opening day so bad this year!! I think Ron W. is going to do good things for the Rangers.
My little boy is due in June and I have to save all my vacation for it. So no opening day for me. I'll have plenty of opening days to take him to when he gets old enough to remember them.

The team manager can only be as good as the Owner and GM are. Both parties have proved themselves very poor in this organization. Amazing since Tom Hicks has done quite a bit with the Stars.

Here's to the Rangers continuing their tradition of getting old, washed-up has-beens and dropping out of contention between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way through the season...

Thats a pretty simple answer there:

A. Hockey isn't baseball.

B. John Daniels had little/no experience in running a team, let alone making personel decisions.

Tom Hicks thought he could imitate the Red Sox/Theo Epstein, period.

True, but it's no secret the players were fed up with Schowalter. I'm not expecting Bean Town Magic in '07, but a record over .500 is a great way to start this franchise moving in the right direction.

Anybody with the first name of "Buck" shouldn't even breathe, much less, coach a professional sports team.

I'm sure this "Buck" would have been a good choice:

The good news for the Rangers is that even if Gagne continues his ways of being a regular on the DL throughout the season, they have Otsuka to fall back on.

Let him double as the set-up guy and closer.

LOLz, this headline could have very well come from The Onion:

"Gagne starts on DL for third consecutive season"

thats a nice luxury to fall back on but its even nicer playing a 7 inning game if they can both get rolling at the same time

otsuka is gonna be a solid backup to gagne...

daniels was, like above stated, a theo epstein attempt that hasn't worked at all. he's made a lot of bad choices, and I think if they were going to go young, they should have picked me.

this is the least confident I've felt in the rangers in recent years, but maybe I'm just not naiive anymore.
