I received this from my principal this morning so for any of you (or anyone you know) that is interested in a teaching position at a High School...pm me with any questions.

Good Morning:

Next year we are going to have around 10 or so growth positions (for the past 3 years we have averaged hiring about 30-35 growth positions each year) because of our increase of students for next year. We would like to do the same thing we did last year and if you know of any good teachers that would like to be looked at first hand for CHS please have them send us their resume and a cover letter for us to review.

The best recruiters are the people who work in the trenches daily and that is because they want people who take care of business along side with them. We want be pro active when it comes to hiring and want to begin interviewing the first day the district allows us to. Last year we had 40+ growth positions and by the end of school we had over 35 of them already hired.

Just tell them to email us the resume and a cover letter and we will look at those first.

Thanks

If you can get your degree, you can do alternative certification and not have to student teach. That's what I did 6 years ago. You can get hired as a teacher, receive teacher pay and finish during the first 1-2 years as of your hiring.

Man....I had one semester left in the Elementary Education program at UTA and I changed my major because my mentor teacher when I was student teaching was SUCH a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad person to me. She killed my desire to teach. :(

That SUCKS M! You shouldn't let someone else influence your desires. Just know that they aren't all like that. :)

UPDATE:

Good Morning.

With the growth positions we were given we are having some issues finding the right quality teaching candidates for Science. If any of you have friends that are looking for new employment and that are Composite Science please have them send us a resume. We will look at them first. We have already hired all the other new teachers for English, Math and Social Studies.

Thanks
